Richard “Dick” Stucky, age 91 from Roseville, MN, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of God on April 14, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born February 5, 1925 in Rochester, MN to Jack and Lorena Stucky, he grew up in Pine Island, MN along with his two sisters and other relatives. The family moved to Faribault, MN when he was 15 where Dick met the love of his life, Carol Anderson. From 1943-1946 he served in the US Navy, returned home and completed his degree at the University of Minnesota in Dairy Science. Dick and Carol were married December 18, 1948. Their years together were spent raising 4 children, residing in White Bear Lake, Sioux Falls, SD, Jacksonville, FL and returned to Roseville, MN to complete his career with the H.B. Fuller Company. Family was always first for Dick. He and Carol provided many adventures for their children from Pelican Lake summer getaways to family road/camping trips where he would never stop for a historical point of interest. He and Carol traveled the world, often with close friends. Throughout his retirement Dick was involved in many volunteer activities which included Roseville Lutheran Church mission work in Martin, Slovakia, Tuesday morning group, church usher, and Habitat for Humanity. He played golf on a senior league and fishing was another passion. He would drive many miles to catch a waleye. Dick was also known far and wide for his ‘handyman’ skills, he could fix anything! Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lorena Stucky, sisters Alla Dehl Deitschman, Corrine Townsend and grand- daughter Antonia “Anni” Kacynski. Dick is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carol Stucky, son, Paul (Meredeth), daughters, Jan, Julie (Dave), and Joellyn (Dave). Grandchildren, Jacob (Sarah), Eric, Trevor, Kyle (Elizabeth), Thomas (Jamie) and Paul. Great grandson, Jonah Abell. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Special thanks to Puneet Cheema M.D., Kristie Elghazi, RN, CNP and the Staff of the Healtheast Cancer Care Center and Hospice team. You all brought a smile to his face with your loving care and support of treating a nonagenarian with MDS! Thanks to Lisa from Baywood Home Care for her gentle, wise, caring support.
