Dear Readers,

We are into the heart of this gospel now. This is week 5, I hope you are still reading along. This week we turn toward the cross, we hear the story of the last days Jesus spends with his disciples. This will be a powerful week of reading.

This week you'll be reading John chapters 12, 13, 14 and 15. In these chapters you'll find:

• The story of Mary anointing Jesus' feet with perfume.
• The story of Jesus washing the feet of each of his disciples.
• Jesus promising an advocate will be with us after Jesus' death, this is the gift of the Holy Spirit.
• See if you can find at least one more "I am" statement. How many have you heard thus far?

This week our devotions take us into the depths of who Jesus is. You'll consider the sacrifice Jesus is preparing to make, you'll hear the personal story from a woman whose own feet were washed in Kenya, and you'll hear the profound words of faith from a 3 year old.
