Lenten Devotional

Sunday, March 4

Posted on

Dear Readers,

It's week 4! You're doing great – this week we'll hit the halfway point of our reading.

This week you'll be reading John chapters 8, 9, 10 and 11. Stick with it, you've got a little more reading this week, but you're going to find some life giving words. In these chapters you'll find:

  • Three more "I am" statements. These are important!
  • The story of a man born blind and the healing Jesus offers.
  • The story of Lazarus who died, the grief of his sisters Mary and Martha, and the power of Jesus to bring Lazarus back to life. This story is a foreshadow of Jesus' own resurrection, but it is also the moment when the Pharisees begin looking for a way to crucify Jesus.

The devotions this week will help you to read and pray about what these stories might mean for your life. You will read about being afraid of the dark and Jesus' light. You'll read about standing strong in the truth of Jesus. You'll be inspired to be a helper. You'll also read about sheep. Sounds exciting right? Let's go.

May you be blessed as you give attention to the reading of God's word,

Pastor Sara
