Cornerstone Begins September 8!

We are busy getting ready for the start of another fun and faith-filled year in Cornerstone! Kids ages 2 years (by Sept. 1) through 4th grade gather on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:55 to learn about the powerful love of God and his son Jesus Christ. Elementary kids will meet in their class spaces, then praise God and move during our Elementary Large Group time together. Beginning Sunday, Sept 8 parents or grandparents will check in their child(ren) using the Check In Kiosks in the Lobby and receive their child’s nametag and a Child Pick Up Receipt.  This Pick-Up Receipt must be presented to pick up your child at the end of Cornerstone. Your child’s safety is our top priority! 

Intro to Cornerstone for New Families with Preschoolers Sunday, Sept. 8

If you are preschool parent new to Cornerstone we have a brief and informative orientation to make this experience familiar for you and your child. On Sunday, Sept 8, after the Preschool Large Group Opening with Miss Gena in Room 45A, all preschool parents new to Cornerstone will gather in Room 66 for a brief intro to what Cornerstone is all about. 3- and 4-year-olds will go to their small groups with their leaders when our opening is over, 2 year olds will go with their parents to Room 66 where they can play while the adults meet for a short overview. If you are new to Cornerstone and have an elementary aged child, Julie Hanson will contact you about getting together on a different Sunday to chat.

School Supplies for Cornerstone

As you are shopping the sales for school supplies, please pick up an extra bottle or 2 of school glue, glue sticks or Crayola washable markers to add to our supplies for Cornerstone at church!  We have lots of crayons, but could use more of these items this year!  Drop off any donations at the CYF desk in the Lobby, or at the Welcome desk in the Commons. Thank you!

Volunteers Needed to Wash Toys

The toys in our 2 year old room, Room 66 need to be cleaned to get ready for Rally Day on Sept 8 in Cornerstone. This can be done at home or here at church. If you are able to help with this task, please contact Julie Hanson. Thank you!

Make a Difference in the lives of Kids!

Serving in Children’s Ministry is a rewarding and amazing opportunity to touch the lives of kids, even if you don’t actually lead a small group of them! When you serve, you can connect with others, grow in your own faith and share God’s love! You don’t have to have a child in our program to share your time!

• Small Group Shepherd – co-lead, w/another adult or youth, a small group of kids on Sunday mornings. Team teaching is flexible for your schedule and kids get to know both of you! We especially need adults to help lead this year, mentoring the youth that also volunteer. Prep is very easy and support and training is provided. 

• Sunday Morning Welcome/Check-In – Help welcome families to Cornerstone and use our check-in system to help parents and guardians! This commitment is just once or twice each month. 

• Supply Team – help prepare the supplies used in Cornerstone for future weeks’ lessons during the Cornerstone hour on Sunday morning or during the week if that is easier. Help needed one or two times each month. 

• Prayer Partners – Pray with Cornerstone Shepherds before Cornerstone begins at 9:50 on Sunday morning. If you can’t pray with our Shepherds in person, please pray for them where you are! 

• Large Group Team – Share only 20 minutes of your time on a Sunday morning to change the way kids see the Bible! Puppet plays, active storytelling, skits, and music… if you love any of these, this is the team for you!

• Toy Team – help to organize and wash the toys in our 2 year old Room (Room 66). This commitment is once each month.
