RLC is more than church for me, it’s home...

In 1973 my parents chose Roseville Lutheran as the church to nurture the gift of faith in my five-year old heart. As I have grown up and raised my own family here, RLC has remained a centering community for me.

While I work to keep the knowledge of God’s love and the command to love others embedded in my daily life, the opportunity to worship on a Sunday morning is a tangible way to fill up my tank and hear the words that form the foundation of my life. I can come in celebration, exhaustion, grief, or humility and find the grace that Jesus offers. Because of worship, I find the inspiration to live out Christ’s mandate to serve others and seek justice.

But RLC is more than just a Sunday event for me. Over the years I have learned so much as a Cornerstone teacher, confirmation leaders’ mentor, adult education leader, member of the executive team, confirmation mentor, and participant in a number of committees. I have learned to be generous, to develop elements of leadership, how to have honest conversations, and what it means to be a neighbor.

While I have always known this community was here for me, the relationships born from my involvement were vital this past year when we lost my dad. The support of the community of friends and pastors was truly sustaining. RLC is more than church for me, it’s home.
